Where are the best places to look for a Job when you have a Business Management degree

Where are the best places to look for a Job when you have a Business Management degree?
I have a Bachelors degree in Business Management and I need a job in that field very soon. It has been two years since I have gotten this degree and finding a job is really hard, even though our economy is tough I just want to know where to look.

Look everywhere. Monster, CareerBuilder, HotJobs, your local newspaper, everywhere. Apply for everything that says it requires a 4 year degree. You may not land a job in your ideal area, but at least you'll have an income coming in. Every business is looking for people who can step up and lead - and your management degree shows that you have the capacity to be a leader, even if your degree isn't in the exact field they're looking for.

Whatever you do, unless you have previous experience, STAY OUT OF FOOD SERVICE!!!!!! As a 15 year veteran of food service, let it be known WE HATE BUSINESS DEGREES. There is a sound reason for this. Most people with business degrees have no idea what to do & they are usually hired as management. The only problem with this idea is that, if you don't know the job from the ground up, no one will respect you. For example, I worked at a well-known Mexican food (Americanized) restaraunt. We had a man come in as a manager who had never worked in food service in his life. He spent 25 years in military intelligence and another 10 years in the Secret Service. Obviously, he should be able to handle anything, right? He started smoking 3 packs a day, after only 3 weeks on the job & he had stopped smoking 20 years ago!!! After 3 months on the job, he had a nervous breakdown & ended up in a mental ward for a year. We were so proud. If you want to be in food service and have any sense, apply for management and request that you start as a crew member to learn the job and work your way to the management position in 2 months. I did this the last job I had in food service and, after the 2 months were up, moved up and had no issues with the crew as I had proved myself and showed I did not look down on them, after all, how could I if I had been down with them? The other management trainee that started the same time I did came in as management directly. She did not see me moved up because she had been run out of the company before I got the "promotion". A degree is useful, if used correctly. If you can keep your head out of your @$$, then food service is really the place to make serious money. A junior manager can start out at nearly $40,000 depending on the market and a senior manager and approach $80,000. Yes, I am serious.

Can I work in fashion merchandising with a Marketing Management degree

Can I work in fashion merchandising with a Marketing Management degree?
I'm want to study Marketing Management at N.Y.U., and I was wondering if I could work in the fashion industry with this type of degree. Would I be better off going to F.I.T. and studying Fashion Merchandising instead? I hear it's one of the best fashion schools in the country?

it's good to have a good stable business background but i would think if you want to go into fashion merchandising then major in fashion merchandising it is ultimately your choice but you should do what will give you stability and something that will make you satisfied. Wouldn't get involved with it if it makes you miserable.

What can I do with a businesss management degree

What can I do with a businesss management degree?
I am thinking about changing my major from Biology (which is not for me) to business.... Maybe business management? If anyone has earned this degree, what kind of job are you working as and do you like it? Also, what jobs can you get with this degree? What do they do and how much do they pay? Thanks!!!

Manage businesses? It's just a generic degree that allows you to become a manager in any industry -- you don't have to have any particular technical skill to manage groups, all you need are the business skills to do it effectively. It works best when combined with an MBA.

This degree offers a lot of flexibility and choice in your career. You can work in the corporate sector as anything from a business development officer to solutions manager, from marketing executive to trends research analyst. You can also choose to go into the banking/financial sectors, insurance and assurance, the Government, public administration and even education. Since this degree course is popular, and more and more people are becoming qualified in this area, the initial remuneration that you will get will not be that high. So I suggest you specialise in a certain area of business. You can opt to do a Masters in that specialised field or just choose to gain work experience in that particular area of your interest. When you are a specialist you will get paid more. One of the highest paid specialist areas is remising. Being a remisier, or a stockbroker, is a challenging but well-paid vocation. Check it out to see if it's your cuppa. Anyway best of luck!

Most likely, somebody working there got training in medical assistant or similar. It's possible, but why would they hire you if there's so many people training for that job and fighting for that job? My friend got a degree in Business Management...she wants to do as you, but now she just stays home. Her stratedgy was go get a job in the office, but nada. What you can do is try to get a receptionist job or office administration. I see loads of jobs like that.

If you have a business management degree, then you can go for a manager or an assistant manager to start with. If you are interested in a medical office, look for offices with group clinics or many doctors working together or a doctor with few clinics under his sleeve. This is where a manager or an assistant manager or even office administration will come in the picture. Good luck

What is a Masters Degree in Management and Leadership worth regarding starting salaries

What is a Masters Degree in Management and Leadership worth regarding starting salaries?
I graduate with a Master Degree in Management and Leadership (FROM A NON-IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL). When I get out of the military, I wanted to know what it is worth. I see that MBA's are worth around $130K a year. I realize that the economy changes but I wanted some idea. Also, are their any helpful sites where companies recruit from for Master Degree's when I leave the military?

Your military service plus the masters degree should be valuable to employers. I don't think you can compare that with the MBA. Salary ranges of MBA graduates are very broad, but I think the average is less than your figure. The Official MBA Guide reports average salaries of graduates, as provided by universities. The top 40 schools ranked by salary of graduates range from $84,000 to $120,000. These are medians of each school, and each has its own range, which is not reported.
